How does it work? IN A 3-TIER ARCHITECTURE ? AS A 2-TIER CONCEPT ?

MAINFRAME/Web Reports intercepts mainframe printout and converts it to plain HTML pages along with index to all pages. In 3-tier architecture, it publishes whole report as a new directory on web server via FTP. On the other hand, if you take advantage of your S390 OE features, you can build a 2-tier solution like the one described here.

How flexible is it?

MAINFRAME/Web Reports enables customization of HTML with specific, user-supplied text, background and header characteristics and logo images.

Is the generated code compatible with my browser?

Generated HTML is fully backward compatible with all major browsers beginning with Netscape Navigator 2.0 and MS IE 2.0. Although MAINFRAME/Web Reports can be customized to incorporate more complex HTML, including frames, JavaScript, ActiveX components ...etc, basic version uses common, basic HTML tags that are recognized by both major browsers.

Can I publish any other type of files? June 15, 1998

MAINFRAME/Web Reports will publish sequential mainframe files (datasets), mainframe reports (datasets with ASA character in first column), partitioned data set (PDS) members and whole PDSs (one page per member). Now supporting JES2 output ! Simply specify the output class that you are targeting and MAINFRAME/Web Reports will capture your output; convert it to HTML and download it to your Web server.

Which platform does it run on?

MAINFRAME/Web Reports is an OS390/MVS based program that works in both on-line (TSO/ISPF) and batch mode. It requires standard OS390/MVS environment with TCP/IP accessibility.
